The Direct Primary Care Difference

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a deceptively simple idea, but it radically reinvigorates and reinvents what primary care should be. Instead of playing the "insurance game": trying to be seen in an overbooked clinic, or guessing which medicines are covered by your plan this month, all why wondering "why am I paying these insurance premiums when they wont even pay for anything before I've hit my deductable?", direct primary care cuts out the middlemen completely.

It's just you, and your doctor.

As a DPC practice, InnoVie Family Medicine takes all the best elements of concierge medicine—once only available to America's CEOs and professional athletes—and makes them accessible to everyone. At InnoVie, we want you to develop an enduring relationship with your primary care doctor. We want to prevent disease, not just treat it. We want to shift the focus to health and wellness, not just the absence of disease.

Meet Our Physician

Brandon M. Teska, DO, PhD

Board Certified Family Physician

"I went into science—and then medicine—because I'm constantly amazed by what the human body can do."

Dr. Teska earned his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Colorado's Anschutz Medical campus before completing his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Rocky Vista University. He completed his residency training at St. Joseph Hospital (SCL, now Intermountain) in Denver in full spectrum family medicine, meaning he delivered babies, cared for critically ill patients in the ICU (during the peak of COVID-19), provided emergency care in the ED as well as caring for patients from all walks of life in various outpatient clinics. He went on to work in both outpatient primary care clinics and also continued work as a hospitalist before founding InnoVie Family Medicine.

Laboratory fees vary depending on the labs ordered. Typical annual physical labwork consisting of a CMP, CBC, A1c and lipid panel ususally costs approximately $35-45 plus blood draw fee at an outside laboratory which is approximately $3-5.

Imaging fees vary greatly depending on the study ordered. Simple x-rays typically cost about $55-60 whereas more advanced imaging (CT scan, MRI, etc.) generally costs a few hundred dolars ($400-600). All costs are discussed in detail with you before we order the study. See additional information about pairing insurance with a membership at InnoVie Family Medicine below.

What About My Insurance?

Insurance is great! And, we recommend that everyone have it! But, insurance is designed to provide coverage for rare, catastrophic events. It doesn't really work well for forging a long-term, personal relationship with your doctor. In primary care—frankly—it often gets in the way more than it helps. So, let's leave it for what it does best—emergencies, costly or unexpected surgeries, specialized imaging or diagnostics, and specialist visits.

What about my pharmacy and imaging benefits?

With a direct primary care membership at InnoVie, you have the freedom and the choice to decide what's best for you! You can use your insurance benefits for medicines, labs and imaging ordered from our clinic. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the great rates that we've negotiated on your behalf for labs and imaging. The choice is yours!

Employer Partnerships

Offering your employees a direct primary care membership at InnoVie Family Medicine as a benefit of their employment can be a great way to attract and retain top talent. Our physicians unqiue availability and flexibility lets your employees can get care they need on their terms which can mean they get better faster. This can mean less sick days and better employee satisfaction for your business!

We offer discounted rates depending on the total number of employees you'd like to bring to the practice. Please contact us if this interests you and we can discuss further.

Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment

Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment—OMT for short—is a hands-on, gentle technique that helps put the body into a position to rediscover its natural balance in order to help aleviate pain and help find better function throughout your day. Common issues that typically respond well to OMT include chronic low back pain, upper back and neck pain (e.g. posture/computer related), and hip pain. Less common issues that also typically respond well include neruologic disorders such as multiple sclerosis and some types of migraines. Treatment frequency and duration are tailored to individual patient needs with a typical treatment frequency of approximately every six weeks with variable duration depending on response to treatment.

If you are a referring provider considering OMT for your patient, please reach out and we can help determine if OMT may be a worthwhile consideration for your patient!

OMT is the only service provided by Dr. Teska outside of a direct primary care membership.
